Notable New Products: Super Mario

In this week's new products roundup, TRUFF teams up with Nintendo to celebrate the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie, Enlightened introduces a line of Greek yogurt bars and Bonne Maman challenges Nutella with its take on the classic chocolate spread.

Barilla

Barilla expanded its lineup of pasta products with the addition of Chickpea Orzo. As the name suggests, the new offering is made with just one ingredient – chickpeas. Each 3.5 oz. serving of the short-cut pasta packs 19 grams of plant-based protein. Barilla Chickpea Orzo can be found at Kroger and Meijer beginning in April.

TRUFF x Nintendo

In celebration of the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie, TRUFF teamed up with Nintendo to create a collectible pack featuring the brand's three best-selling truffle-infused hot sauces. The limited-edition 6 oz. bottles feature custom labels and are packaged in a Mushroom Kingdom-themed gift box. The exclusive collectible box will be exclusively available online on April 5, the day the film is released, for $69.99.

Joya

In conjunction with its post-COVID relaunch and rebranding, JOYÀ expanded its lineup of functional super blend products with the addition of its Defend variety. The new offering has a vanilla-maca flavor and is made with functional ingredients including ashwagandha, reishi and lion's mane to support immunity and increase the body's resistance to stress. JOYÀ Defend is available on the brand's website for $39 per 1.7 oz. bag.

Saucy Gourmet

Plant-based salsa producer Saucy Gourmet unveiled its newest product innovation, Salsa Verde. Sala Verde joins the brand's existing lineup of salsas, which includes Chipotle Salsa, Classic Salsa and Habanero Salsa and can be used as a dip, marinade or cooking sauce. Saucy Gourmet products are currently available at 1,200 grocery stores across the Southern Region including Publix, Ingles Market, PSK Supermarkets and Whole Foods.

The Supplant Company

To highlight its newest ingredient, Supplant Grain & Stalk Flour, The Supplant Company released a limited batch of Supplant Pasta. Made from a flour blend that the grain and the, typically wasted, stalk of the wheat plant, the brand claims the pasta is lower in calories and higher in fiber than regular pasta. The LTO is now available for pre-order on the brand's site for $4.99 per 8 oz. bag.

505 Southwestern

Green chile salsa maker 505 Southwestern announced the planned launch of a new lineup of fresh dips and quesos, including Chunky Green Chile Guacamole. The announcement comes on the heels of 505's acquisition of Yucatan Foods and its 97,000 sq. foot fresh dip manufacturing and high-pressure pasteurization facility in Mexico. Each container of the chunky guacamole is hand-scooped at the Mexico facility and features 505SW flame-roasted Hatch Valley green chile peppers.

Enlightened

Frozen treat and dessert maker Enlightened announced the release of a new product line, Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars. Available in two flavors at launch – Caramel Brownie and Mint & Cookies – each bar has 80 calories and packs 5 grams of protein. Additionally, the bars have just 3 grams of added sugar, which the brand claims make them the lowest-sugar Greek yogurt bars on the market. Enlightened Greek Yogurt Bars are available in a four-count box at Sprouts, Harris-Teeter, ShopRite, Ingles and Smart & Final for a suggested retail price of $6.99.

Bonne Maman

Premium preserves brand Bonne Maman has unveiled its newest innovation, Hazelnut Chocolate Spread. Bonne Maman Chocolate Spread is available online and at select retailers for a suggested retail price of $6.49 per 8.8 oz. jar.
